Weight On My Shoulders
I stand on the shoulders of myself, for my mom. There are moments where I feel too tired to stand and all I want to do is sit criss-cross applesauce on the ground but I remain standing. I stand for you. I stand for the accomplishments that you have made and for all of the amazing examples you have set for me. I stand for you because you have never failed to stand for me. With time the weight on my shoulders will decrease, but I will weather the storm until the rainbow appears and we can finally say we did it.
I stand for those who cannot find the strength to get up. I stand for self expression, mental health, equality, freedom, and all things loving. I stand for others, and with others because I wish someone stood with me when I needed it most.
